COSTA RICA October 2023.  In a constant effort to promote education for the job insertion of Western students and contribute to the development of local communities, the Costa Rica Green Valley real estate project has strengthened its commitment to professional training in the sector.

Through a series of agreements and collaboration, a partnership has been made with several of the local Professional Technical High Schools (CTP for its acronym in Spanish). The main objective is to provide educational support and greater professional opportunities to students in the region.

The driver behind these agreements arose after a thorough evaluation of the community and the recognition of various clusters of players within the Western ecosystem.

“In particular, the crucial role played by the Professional Technical High Schools (CTP) in the region has been identified, highlighting their dynamism, commitment and professionalism in seeking to connect with the growth of industrial parks in the canton of Grecia,” said José Antonio Herrero, President of Costa Rica Green Valley.

In the first stage, the beneficiaries of these agreements include the Bolívar Professional Technical High School in Grecia, the Rosario Professional Technical High School in Naranjo and the Santa Eulalia Professional Technical High School in Atenas. The main objective is to allow students to carry out internships in high-tech companies with international standards. In addition, detailed information will be shared about the job profiles required in the Zona Franca Grecia (Grecia Free Trade Area, ZFG), located in Costa Rica Green Valley, so that the CTPs can adjust their educational offering to be aligned with local labor demand. Also, activities that strengthen comprehensive, inclusive and sustainable education in the region will be promoted.

“This is a commitment that is aligned with the sustainability strategy of Portafolio Inmobiliario, the developer of Zona Franca Grecia, reflecting its determination to contribute to the economic and social development of the communities near the project. As a result, agreements were born with the CTPs to strengthen the technical training of young people and facilitate their transition towards a successful career, which will materialize in the coming months,” highlighted Roberto Argüello, project director at Portafolio Inmobiliario.

In addition to these collaborations, in the coming months, approaches with other Professional Technical High School in the West will get started, with similar objectives of supporting vocational education and training.

Support for the World Robotics Olympics. Students from the Naranjo Technical High School are getting ready for their participation in the World Robotics Olympics with innovative projects. This event will take place from November 7 to 9 in Panama City. Costa Rica Green Valley also extended its commitment to education internationally, supporting the main objective of this program in backing talented young people who will represent Costa Rica before delegations from over 80 countries, demonstrating their problem-solving skills through robotics.

This initiative originated due to the financial limitations that prevented the participation of these students in the event. Costa Rica Green Valley’s financial support covers airfare for the entire national team, including ten students and teachers.

“Costa Rica Green Valley and Zona Franca Grecia are committed to continuing to support initiatives that improve the education and development of local communities. We will continue to work closely with the Professional Technical High Schools to achieve a lasting impact,” said Francisco Bogantes, partner of Costa Rica Green Valley.
