Costa Rica, April 2024. Costa Rica Green Valley has donated major public

works to the municipality of Grecia. The initiative is the result of a

commitment to the economic and social progress of surrounding

communities and the integrated development of the western area.

The donation consists of the development of a paved road, sidewalks, a

bicycle path, curbs, medians, lighting, pipes, stormwater drainage and

sanitary wells, telecommunication systems, electrical systems, and road

signs, covering a total area of 5,548 square meters. An investment of

approximately three million dollars was earmarked to this end.

Construction began in 2022 and the completed work was inaugurated on

April 23, 2024, with local authorities and Costa Rica Green Valley

representatives in attendance.

Grecia Free Trade Zone is being developed as part of the Costa Rica Green

Valley mixed-use project conceived as an ideal space for attracting leading

global corporate service and manufacturing firms.

“Our project has a clear vision: to drive sustainable development in the

western region, creating employment opportunities and promoting business

associations that foment local talent in an inclusive manner,” stated José

Antonio Herrero, president of Costa Rica Green Valley.

The project promotes job opportunities and business linkages that prioritize

local talent in an inclusive manner with development that ensures the

protection of natural resources, thus connecting with the different social

needs of the project’s surrounding communities.

The benefits of this donation to the Grecia community include road

infrastructure improvement and the opening of a public road that will help

bring jobs, develop the local economy, and improve quality of life for the

area’s inhabitants by providing safe and walkable green spaces.

“Infrastructure is a fundamental pillar of development. This boulevard does

not only connect places. It also brings employment opportunities,

investment, and social integration. In the municipal government we

recognize the importance of public-private partnering to boost investment

and the development of our communities,” stated Francisco Murillo, mayor

of Grecia.

This initiative joins other similar actions carried out by Costa Rica Green

Valley, such as the donation of 9.5 hectares of land for building public roads.

“We’re working to make our projects add value to the environment in three

basic pillars: building trust with neighbors during all phases of the project;

strengthening the local business ecosystem of the surrounding

communities; and developing infrastructure that can help close the

country’s social gap,” said the project’s director Roberto Argüello.

These types of actions align with the strategy of the developer Portafolio

Inmobiliario, whose goal is to drive economic, social, and environmental

development.
